Kind of the wrong forum, but I'll move this to a tutorial section once I get it going.

I cannot currently send the 360 commands to play the stream so you will have to (for now) do that manually.
There are a few ways that you can do this, since media center was requested, thats how I'll explain it. I would recommend getting a copy of Windows Media Connect. It's a little lighter than dealing with all of the windows media center extender crap.
Tversity,Orb or other upnp services may work as well.

Here we go.

If you do not have Windows media center setup, get that setup first, pretty simple, just goto the 360 dashboard and select media center, then follow the instructions. Media center on the PC is required.

Now, download this playlist to you're My Videos folder in My Documents. (or other video directory you have shared.)
Open the file in in a text editor and find "192.168.0.102"

You will now need to find the ip address of you're computer that Sopcast is running on and replace the above address with your's. Should be two entries to change.
Save the file and try to keep that IP from changing. Setting up that computer with a static Ip will fix that.

Now you have a Sopcast playlist, startup sopcast on a channel you wish to watch.
Let it load, if using SopcasX wait until the bar at the bottom says there is a local connection. Now browse to My Videos on you're Xbox, you'll have a Sopcast file there. Load it and wait, you should be watching in a few seconds.

NOTE: Vlc H.264 streams do NOT work. Normal wmv streams seem to work fine.

hey, i used both orb and windows media player 11, and they both work great to get my videos up. However, xbox 360 unfortunately does not recognize the .asx playlist file. Otherwise, the file itself works great im pretty sure. Anybody know how to get the xbox to recognize this PARTICULAR file? Thanks a lot guys.
